I Feel Stifled in My Job: Finding a Better Career

Dear Dr. Rick… I feel stifled and not being able to flourish in my current job situation. How can I change that quickly? from Mike in Bay View

Hi Mike… You can’t find a better career situation by complaining about your current one. The fact that you have desire to grow and expand in your career is really great. But somehow you need to find appreciation in your current position so that you do not attract another example of what you do not like in your next job.

I am reminded of a great story of a man who moves into a new town and asks the local sage what kind of people live there. The sage asks, “What kind of people lived in your last town?” The man answers, “Dishonest people, cheats and liars, and really unfriendly.” The sage answers, “We have the same kind of people here.” A second man moves into town and asks the sage the same question, “What kind of people will I find in this town?” The sage asks the second man, “What kind of people lived in your last town?” The second man answers, “Wonderful people, helpful, kind and loving.” The sage now answers, “That is the kind of people you will find in this town as well.”

Here is the key, you will attract the exact same kind of energy to what you are focusing on and giving out. If you are focusing on what you don’t like about your current situation, it will continue. If you make a change, you will find the same energy in your new situation. So I suggest you create a positive affirmation about your job. How about, “I am so grateful that I feel stifled and have desire to grow.” Then you can evolve that into, “I am so happy the desire to grow and expand runs so strongly in me. I am really looking forward to something more. I hope I still feel this way 40 years from now. I am looking forward to growing and growing and growing.” In this way, through appreciation, you will attract a situation where you can find that feeling of growth.

It may not even be necessary to change jobs. You may find that after you change your focus and your emotion surrounding your job, the perfect opportunity may present itself to feed your hunger for growth within that same position. You will see. It is magical! Enjoy, Rick

I feel very bad to be alone: Conquering Loneliness

Dear Dr. Rick, I am 35 years old lady alone in Dubai. I feel very bad to be alone. I want to overcome this fear but I don’t know how. from Venus in Dubai

Hi Venus, This is such a great question to ask because we all feel loneliness at times.

I believe the key is to understand that “what you think about expands.” In other words, the more you think about something the more it fills your life. This is how the Universal Law of Attraction works. When your awareness is on being lonely, you will attract more lonely experiences. The key is to focus on the other aspects of your life.

For instance, say things to yourself like, “I really love interacting with all the people I may meet in a day, the postman, the grocery store clerk, even a phone caller with the wrong number. Focus on social interaction with anyone you can. Then fill your mind with those experiences and those memories. How about, “I love finding amazing people to chat with on internet discussion boards.” “I feel great intimacy so quickly with so many people. “I love that about me, that I am a real people person and I adore every relationship that I have!”

You will find that you will be less and less lonely as you fill your thoughts with these messages and memories. And more and more people will enter your life that love to interact and build relationships. Good luck. Oh, and enjoy the journey! This is the most remarkable and memorable time.

Enjoy, Rick

What are your favorite Law of Attraction Books?

I just wanted to know Dr. Rick. What are your favorite three Law of Attraction books? I am building my library of self-growth and abundance living literature and want some ideas. I like The Sedona Method by hale Dwoskin, Awake the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins, and The Attaction Factor by Joe Vitale. The Secret was great, but if feels like simply icing on the cake… a teaser. I want more. What do you suggest? from Laura in Canton

Hi Laura,

It’s funny you bring this up. I was just chatting with a group last night about the amazing impact of books… one spoke about Think and Grow Rich, and the other about Atlas Shrugged.

That is a really great question to get us chatting. Your top three are wonderful. At any point in time our favorites can change. Right now I would say I have two favorites. Deepak Chopra’s The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success comes to mind. I have probably read it 50 times. I especially like to listen to the audiobook while I exercise. I keep hearing new things in it.

Secondly, I subscribe to the Abraham-Hicks Workshop CD Series. I get two audio CD’s a month. After I listen, I add them to my already extensive collection of Workshop CD’s on my MP3 player playlist. I love to listen to the tracks on the random setting. I always seem to hear exactly what I need! Thanks, Dr. Rick

Welcome

Please feel free to ask me a question.  This will be posted on my site, and available for others to see.  That way it may be extremely valuable to others who are feeling the same as you or asking a similar question.  In this way, you are a teacher!  Thank you.  - Dr. Rick
