Your Daily Focus: Priceless
What is the value of a human life? It only varies based on the lens we are looking through to see it.
Street value of the billions of atoms in our bodies: $6.
Average per capita total annual income: $11,500
Average per capita net worth of savings: $36,000.
Value each of us has to those we love and to humanity in general: PRICELESS!
The two key numbers here are the first, $6, and the last, priceless! The middle two numbers vary widely for each of us across the planet, but the first and last number are identical for every living person on the planet.
Let’s all make a commitment to deeply feel that truth, and act consistently with that truth. We all are the same. We all have differing personalities and desires, but deep down we all have the same basic needs: to be seen, valued, and loved.
Whether it’s the CEO of Apple or the dishwasher at your favorite restaurant, whether it’s your favorite actress or the single mom with three kids living on welfare, whether it’s the director of Doctor’s Without Borders or the child with attention deficit struggling to get through middle school, whether it’s the top regional politician in your area or the high school student with three shoplifting arrests, whether it’s your favorite author or the 80-year-old in the nursing home who doesn’t always recognize their family, whether it’s the best teacher you ever had in grade school or the co-worker who really gets under your skin, whether it’s the drug counselor or the drug user, whether it’s your best friend or a total stranger, every life on the planet has this same value… priceless!
Thank you for your message today! Not only am I going to remember that EVERY life is priceless, but that every minute of that life it precious.
Rick, this message is PRICELESS. It brought up such a huge feeling inside of me, of cherishing every human being on this amazing planet. I had a feeling of awe for every person and a feeling of respect for their unique journey. Each person has a journey that only their own being can identify or explain and your message allowed me to transcend the thoughts that my mind wants to bring to me about the journey – including my own! You said it so simply and eloquently: to be seen, valued, and loved. Thank you for this reminder. It is so inspiring and loving.
