Your Daily Focus: Wyoming
Have you ever told yourself the perfect story of your life, and then had it come true?
Yesterday I shared how my basking in how great the feeling would be of gifting my car to my daughter actually led to a nearly instant chain of events that made it possible. It made me think of Day 23 from my book Extreme Thought Makeover which offers you a chance to tell the story of your perfect day.
Countless times I have heard from people how this exercise easily manifests the content of the story in their lives. I wanted to share one of these stories. It is from Kevin Kowalke of Muskego Wisconsin and is an “Inspired Personal Story” published in the book.
Hi Rick,
I went through this lesson over a year ago just on a whim, and I want to let you know what happened. I wrote about snowboarding, Jackson Hole Wyoming, getting a massage, and meeting up for dinner with the girl of my dreams. Many of those things have come true for me. I have been out to Jackson Hole several times on snowboarding trips. I unexpectedly met the woman of my dreams and we’re going to be married next year. We will honeymoon in Jackson Hole because it could really be a special place for us.
I don’t think I’d be exaggerating if I said I think about it every day. I think of a small piece of heaven on Earth and I get the biggest smile on my face and the feelings that are inside of me are just amazing.
It’s funny to me how the writing out your perfect day exercise seemed to actually make it happen. Because you finally took that step to say, “alright, if I could have anything at any time on any day, what would it be?” And, boom, you write it down and all of a sudden you start to figure out how you can actually make that happen in your life. And then again, it goes back to having your mind in that place that says, “I can do it, I can do whatever I want, I can make it happen, I can figure it out.”
And now I feel like I need to go back and do this lesson again because I want to see what it looks like now compared to what it was before. I’ll bet it’ll blow my socks off!
Thanks, Kevin
Note: by the way, Kevin is marrying that “girl of his dreams” Shannon Carney next month!
Rick,
I am so glad you shared that story. It keeps getting better at time goes on. This is something everyone should do. I have learned so much about myself and my motivations by keeping this top of mind. More and more wonderful things keep happening to me. It is so fun to reflect on how blessed I have become.
On June 18th I get the honor of marrying the “girl of my dreams” that I talked about so long ago. We will be surrounded by friends and family making it a truly joyous occasion. Right after the wedding we will be getting our 2nd GoldenDoodle puppy (Pedey) and will be planning our first trip together, as husband and wife, to Wyoming to be in the middle of God’s beauty while beginning the search for a home to buy which is another step in our journey. I can’t think of a more perfect life.
Thank you for being the catalyst that helped bring me to this moment in my life. Your daily inspirations and your personal mentoring have allowed me to have the most amazing life I could have ever dreamed of at the young age of 38. I am blessed to have had our paths cross.
Kevin
Rick thank you for sharing this wonderful story. I too had a similar experience this past year. My best friend and I did a meditation in April of last year. We wrote our desires and placed them in our God Boxes. It is totally amazing to us how fast the universe manifested our desires. Before we knew it we were buying a house together and getting married, merging our families and all the fun that goes along with it.
When you set your thoughts out there they are amplified and everything comes together for the better.
Thank you,
Lisa
My dear friend Rick and love of my life, Kevin –
Thank you for being honest, giving, inspiring, true men that I am so proud to know and have in my life. The life of our dreams is a reality every day because you told us to write it down. Wow – what a concept. EVERYONE needs to do this, because you might already have the life of your dreams and not even see it right in front of you. I am so thankful for every moment since you both came into my life. Sorry Rick, I love you as a friend:)
Kevin – you are my angel.
Love – the “girl of your dreams”
ps – thanks for making me feel extra special and smile REALLY big today. Reading this was an awesome suprize in my day!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxo
Way to go Kevin & Shannon, so happy for both of you!
Keep these feelings going to continue furthering your growth and love for one another.
