Your Daily Focus: Self-Talk

11.15.2010 · Posted in Quotes / Daily Focus
Speak to no one of what displeases you, even yourself.
The benefit of this concept probably doesn’t require a
discussion, but I do what to mention that according to
the Law of Attraction principle “what you focus your
attention on… expands.”  So therefore, if you focus
your attention on a thought of what you don’t
like around you, it will expand in your experience.
Likewise, if you focus your attention on something
you don’t like about yourself, it too will expand.
Why would you want more of what you don’t like?
So, the simplest solution is to change your
thinking.
Carry this thought with you throughout the day
today, and see if you can catch yourself each time
you focus on something negative, something you
don’t what more of, something that displeases you.
Whenever that negative perspective thought pops
in, shift it to the other perspective and transform it
to a positive thought, something you want more of.
Here’s the simplest example I can think of. When
you are choosing a dessert today, don’t think “I
don’t like raisins.” Instead, say to yourself “I prefer
cookies without raisins,” or “I prefer cookies with
chocolate chips and nuts.”
Simple enough, eh?  If you can do this, it can have
a huge transformative impact on your life. You
may be surprised how often it comes up today.
Good luck,
Rick

  1. that is the truth! This week I got slammed with tooth/jaw pain …owieeee! and who likes to go to the Dentist? all the gremlins started to attack about how much it would cost and how much it would hurt. I kept thinking my mouth gets better every minute…..well after 5 days of pain and aspirin I had to accept the reality that thinking positive just wasn’t enough and it needed some professional action before I left on my trip out of town in 3 days. I then heard the fears…what if the Dr. can’t see me…or figure it out or,or ,or. I changed it to “this will be fixed in the perfect way, at the perfect time and my mouth will be perfect again before I leave on my vacation.” Called my dentist and got in within 2 hours. He referred me to a root canal specialst (aaargh)who fit me in at 9:30am the next day and completed it in 1 session with ease.Dr.Gaffney was absolutely great. Gentle and funny and I loved the way he explained everthing and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend him.
It’s over, I’m feeling great again and on a jet plane in an hour. If it had to be done I created it with joy and ease and got it over with. Sunni

  2. I am new to this, so i will start trying it, since I am my own saboteur. i start with one negative thought and BAM then they go, the rest of them! Creating an avalanche of negativity!
I have decided: I will stop that. NOW.
