Your Daily Focus: Pretty
Who is that other beautiful person in the mirror?
For those of you who are parents, or aunts, or uncles, or big brothers or sisters, you will probably relate to this very quickly. Have you ever held your child in front of a mirror and said, “Look how pretty you are, look how beautiful you are!”
This is so easy to do, because it is so easy to see the perfection and innocence in a child. How many of you really notice the other beautiful person in the reflection? That person was a child once too. That person is equally as beautiful.
So here’s the challenge for today. If you have a chance to be with a child, hold them up in the mirror and say, “Look how pretty you are. Look how pretty I am. Look how beautiful we are. There are no two people more beautiful than us in the whole world!”
Think of the wonderful impact you will have on your own self-image by piggybacking it on with the child. And think how wonderful for the child to embrace early that each and every person on this planet is beautiful and perfect, including themselves, and including their sister, or brother, or aunt, or uncle, or father, or mother.
I can hear it now, echoes of “Look how beautiful we are” all across the planet. I think that’s how the planet is wishing to sound… let’s grant that wish today.
