Your Daily Focus: Pretending

Once there was a way, to get back homeward.  – The Beatles, from Golden Slumbers.

It’s nice to feel connected to who we really truly are once in a while, instead of the people we are pretending to be.

Our natural state is one of love, safety, comfort, and knowing. Look at babies when they are born. Not a care in the world. No worry about where food is going to come from, where love is going to come from, and of course no worry about where money is going to come from. It is only through our training that we could believe otherwise.  This training comes from learning from other older people, from our schooling, and from the TV news!

As we develop and embrace fear and concern and worry through this training, we become separated from our natural state. That is why those thoughts feel bad. It is the separation from our natural native knowing state. When we are inspired, we are connected to God and the infinite intelligence in the Universe. Inspiration always feels good, doesn’t it?

But nonetheless, life is an adventure, and we signed on for the full ride. It is sometimes fun to play a character, acting sad, or depressed, or betrayed, or angry, or vengeful. These are not our natural states, but they do allow us an opportunity to move from a disconnected place back to a connected place.

There is always wonderful feeling of relief when we are coming back toward our true natural selves, toward being love, safety, comfort and knowing.

  1. I loved this Dr. Rick! Love being our natural state & the others being “charactors” we are playing is a wonderful way to describe it. It was nice hearing you speak yesterday. I look forward to your future posts. Jody :o )
