Your Daily Focus: Open-Mindedness
Growing is not knowing.
Have you ever heard the phrase “knowing stands in the way of learning?” It is so true. The greatest learning phases always come into your life when you are open-minded. Sometimes it’s when you start school, start a new job, start going to a new church, start a new relationship, start a new hobby or sport, or have a child. The key common factor is open-mindedness.
Hold onto open-mindedness in all things. The one thing we know for sure is that we don’t yet know all things. In fact, we don’t even yet know all that we don’t know!
And remember: “Growing is NOT knowing!”
Rick,
Coming from a family that was very structured and set in their ways this has been something I have had to put a lot of effort into mastering. I have a ton of confidence in myself, my beliefs and my opinions. It wasn’t until a few years back I figured out there were a lot of wise people I could learn from. Now, my mind is wide open. That does not mean I am easily influenced. In fact, it is very tough to get me to change my opinion or belief but am happy to hear what someone has to say. This has created a lot of wealth for me. Having an open mind has allowed me to become a better overall man, friend, son, business man, friend and disciple of God.
Keep spreading the word about this. If more people believed in this and allowed it to be part of their lives they would amazed at the results.

what keeps me fresh and happy is looking for A highlight of learning something new. If I’m getting my car fixed and the guy shows me something I say “It’s a great day when I learn something new” thank you for sharing that.
I am always looking for the “new” and that keeps me feeling young and vibrant and curious and growing. Thank you Rick for this fabulous process and book to keep my mind focused and open.
