Your Daily Focus: Knowledge
Your ears thirst for the sound of your heart’s knowledge. – Kahlil Gibran, from The Prophet
It’s really interesting this human experience. We are guided so fully by our heart, by our feelings, by our emotions. Our entire bodies are filled with excitement and inspiration when we are thinking and acting in alignment with what our heart knows is right for us.
Yet, still, it helps to hear encouragement and approval from others. Isn’t that curious? We have this perfect connection to infinite intelligence. It’s like we can hear the words of God clearly through our emotions and through our feelings. We know in every cell in our body when we are in alignment, and inspired.
Yet, still, we want a to hear the opinion of someone outside of us approve of us. When we write, or draw, or cook, or play sports, we love to hear the approval of others. When we are defining our place on this planet and have an idea for our future, we love to have others agree with us.
Just remember, no one else has been on the same path as you. No one else knows the desire that has built up in your heart from all the experiences you have had in your life. No one is qualified to state an opinion of your life, of your choices, of your ideas… except you!
Find the fullness in your heart’s knowledge. Let go of the approval of others. I know even for myself this is a stretch, because it feels good to hear approval. But it is at least fun to try, and to feel that over time you are moving toward not needing it.
The fullness of your heart really is enough.
Great message Rick! The moment I stopped looking for approval (I received very little as a child) the more I accomplished in life. I gave myself permission to have whatever I wanted and now am living the life I always wanted to be ‘approved’ for, from who I have no idea…hahaha
Opinions are exactly that, opinions. They have no idea what is in your best interest. That is between you and God. With that part of my life completely dialed in, I am constantly shaping what I want my life to be…and it keeps happening.
I wouldn’t know and believe this without having been on both sides. I am thankful for all the challenges I have faced in life as they have given me the knowledge and wisdom to live and love my maximum life.

very rich and ‘thought provoking’ as always, but you don’t need my approval!!
I think I go both ways, but I’m going to try make more of an effort to accept my “heart knowledge.”
Thanks for this, Dr. Rick.
Barbara, fantastic response, you made me laugh out loud!!! thank you, Rick
