Your Daily Focus: Appreciation

11.16.2010 · Posted in Quotes / Daily Focus
The shortest path to happiness is to find something to appreciate… RIGHT NOW!
That simple concept can transform your entire life.
It sounds amazing, but those who practice it know
it to be true. As you go through your day today, try
it. Every once in a while purposely shift your focus
onto something to appreciate. Just look around you
and dream something up. It works like a charm.
Whatever your mood in that moment, it will shift
to slightly more positive. Have fun with it!

  1. This past week, I was in Atlanta for a conference, and I noticed in a BIG way what separates happy people from the rest…and it’s appreciation! Being in a big city again (for the first time in a while) I truly noticed how so many people are rushing around, living outside the NOW and outside their bodies. I even met a man whose business niche is meditation, and he dashes around like someone who really needs to slow down! I would not ever want to buy a stress relief product from a guy who bolts from one thing to the next and sounds hyper!

Appreciation is a beautiful place to live from!

  2. Dr Rick,
What a great reminder to appreciate what we have. I write daily in my gratitude journal and it reminds me to appreciate all the wonderful things I already have. This definitely helps me maintain a positive mindset, which just brings more good things for me to appreciate.

A little appreciation goes a long way!
